Northwood Foundation Initiatives
Dignified Living

The Dignified Living Program provides ongoing support to residents and clients who are struggling with medical needs like transportation to appointments, dental work, hearing aids, and other necessities that aren’t covered by the government, their insurance or their income.

Mental Health & Wellness

Northwood’s goal is to promote good mental health and wellness – whatever that may look like – for those in our community. Our support regarding the well-being of our participants allow them to feel, think, and act in ways that help them enjoy life and cope with its challenges. Seeds of Success in Halifax and Seedlings in Bedford are two therapeutic mental health and wellness programs presently being offered at Northwood.

Recreation Therapy

Northwood’s registered Recreation and Leisure Therapists offer our residents living in long-term care opportunities to engage in programs, games, and adventures that allow them to live on their terms, to live more!

Adult Day Programs

Supporting people who suffer from Dementia and their families.
Our four Northwood Adult Day programs provide flexible individualized programming, socialization, and companionship with supervision. We offer caregivers a day of respite with confidence and peace of mind.

Day Trips

The Northwood bus is used within our Northwood Community for social outings like shopping, site seeing, dining out and even for Holiday Light tours around the city.
